Description
Gabapentin
When treating epilepsy, gabapentin is used to help manage partial seizures, or convulsions. This medication will only help manage seizures as long as you take it; it cannot treat epilepsy.
Additionally, postherpetic neuralgia—pain that follows shingles—is treated with gabapentin.
In the brain, gabapentin prevents seizures and reduces pain associated with specific nervous system disorders. Routine pain from small injuries or arthritis is not treated with it. One anticonvulsant is gabapentin.
You can only get this medication with a prescription from your doctor.
